Jesus calls us to an understanding that all of our extra is purposeful so that we may be generous in every situation. Through our giving to a local church, we allow our resources to help others, feed the hungry, and bless the stranger.

Jesus teaches us that to be great means to make ourselves smaller - that is, to humble ourselves to the position of a servant. In doing so, we follow the example of Christ who did not come to be served, but came to be a servant himself. As we humble ourselves, we look more Christ-like and in Him we find our true greatness.
